Summary:The Sorbello 1 Site (28-Sa-214) is located in Oldmans Township, Salem County, New Jersey. The site is bordered by Beaver Creek to the north and the Beaver Creek confluence and Myers Run to the northeast. Diagnostic tools recovered from the Sorbello 1 Site date to the Late Archaic Period (circa 4,000–1,500 BP), and Locus 5 dates to the Middle Archaic, spanning to the Transitional Archaic or Early Woodland. Eleven samples, including fire cracked rock (FCR) sediment and lithic artifacts, were collected from the Sorbello 1 Site and submitted for pollen, starch, and protein residue analysis.
