Summary: | This report presents the Executive Summary, and Chapter V, Summary and Conclusions of the Phase I archeological investigations at the Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC) in Adelphi, Maryland. This study was designed to address the Department of Defense’s responsibilities under Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, as well as Army Regulation 420-40. This documentation shall serve as a Technical Appendix to the Cultural Resources Management Plan, prepared by the Rise Franks and Straw (KFS) Historic Preservation Group. Architectural resources are addressed briefly. These resources do not meet the usual criteria for listing on the National Register of Historic Places, but may be significant in a Cold War context. An architectural study to address the significance of these buildings in a Cold War context is recommended. |
