Description
Summary:This paper introduces the current conversations about the environment taking place between aboriginal and non-aboriginal peoples in the Yukon Territory of northwestern Canada. Viewing this contemporary cultural meeting ground through the lenses of both Western knowledge and Northern Athapaskan traditional knowledge offers insights into the nature and consequences of difference. This wander through Yukon cultural landscapes may help us appreciate the difficulty a culturally pluralist society faces in coming to agreements on defining and participating in the environment we share.
