Summary:Model description: Digital outcrop model of Adriabukta, Southern Spitsbergen. The profile shows an overview of the outcrops on the Northern shore of Inner Hornsund Fjord in Adriabukta. To the left on the model are red and yellow Devonian sandstone transitioning up into Late Devonian black Shales of the Adriabukta Fm. Exposed in the middle of the shales is a basement lense composed of whitish basement rocks. Above the shales, the succession shows (mid-) late Carboniferous alluvial red-bed deposits of the Hyrnefjellet Formation (Fm.) which grade upwards into interbedded shallow-marine sandy deposits. Overlying the Hyrnefjellet is the Parallic to shallow marine sandstones and carbonates of the late Carboniferous to early Permian Treskelodden Fm. which is completely carbonate dominated towards its top. Overlying the Treskelodden Fm. is inner shelf chert deposits of the late Permian Kapp Starostin Fm. The boundary between the Treskelodden and Kapp Starostin Fm's records a major unconformity.
