It was earlier noted from the Norfolk Ridge (see Bitner 2008: fig. 15) and New Caledonia (Laurin 1997) and occurs in the South-West Pacific from New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand and Antarctica (Zezina 1981a; Foster 1989; Dawson 1991).
