Distribution. Collected from off Bahia, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, at depths from 1036 to 2271 m. Sphagemacrurus grenadae was described from off Grenada, and is known from the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean to southern Brazil (Marshall 1973 c; Serét & Andreata 1992). : Published as part of Melo, Marcelo R.
