Description
Summary:Genus Thenea Gray, 1867 Diagnosis: Theneidae with tetraxonic megascleres and without cladotyles. Most of the taxonomy concerning Thenea has already been treated elsewhere (Steenstrup & Tendal 1982) so our description will mainly focus on new data. Our study will notably add new records, additional illustrations (external morphology and spicules) and discuss the molecular phylogenetic data now available for those species (Cárdenas et al . 2011). : Published as part of Cárdenas, Paco & Rapp, Hans Tore, 2012, A review of Norwegian streptaster-bearing Astrophorida (Porifera: Demospongiae: Tetractinellida), new records and a new species, pp. 1-52 in Zootaxa 3253 on page 33, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.280590 : {"references": ["Gray, J.
