Summary:Macrosteles cristatus (Ribaut, 1927) (Plate 1, figs. 9–17) Length (including tegmen). Male: 3.0– 3.5 mm; female: 3.5 –4.0 mm. Greenish yellow; ocelli pale green; head with 3 pairs of irregular black marks and short longitudinal black bands between ocelli and eyes. Male abdomen. 2 nd acrotergite with trunk horizontal, anterior processes stout and large, neck about half as long as trunk width. 2 nd tergal apodeme reaching 1 / 2 of tergite posteriorly. 1 st sternal apodeme with posterior lobes as long as wide. 2 nd sternal apodeme reduced. Male genitalia. Aedeagal shaft base broad with lateral flanges, distinctly swollen, broadest near mid length in lateral view, apex narrow; apical appendages divergent. Material examined. Europe to Kamchatka, south to Mongolia (Kwon 1988) and China (Hebei, Jilin, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang). Remarks.
