Diagnostic characters . Elongately oval shell; very long and truncate posterior rostrum; right valve hinge with a low elongate posterior lateral tooth; outer surface with dense, somewhat lamellar commarginal growth markings. shell type ST-2D; length about 180 µm; roundish outline; convex profile; P-1 surface almost smooth; P-2 nearly absent; transition to the nepioconch rather distinct. Occurrence . Box-corer samples BC66 (3 specimens), BC72 (1); cores BC04 (1), BC05 (6), BC51 (1), BC72 (2). Maximum length: about 13 mm. Distribution and habitat . The species occurs in muddy sediment at shelf edge depths in the northern North Sea and arctic waters, and reaches deeper settings southward on both the Atlantic margins and across the Mediterranean, including the Levantine basin (Barash & Danin 1992; Buhl-Mortensen & Høisaeter 1993; Galil 2004; Oliver et al. 2016).
