Summary:Pennella zeylanica Kirtisinghe, 1933 Not valid. Reported from Pacific sailfish, Istiophorous gladius (= I. platypterus), Ceylon. The original description and figures clearly indicate that P. zeylanica is identical with P. instructa of Wilson (1917) (cephalothoracic papillae and holdfast horn configuration is the same between the two species) which is also found on sailfish (Hogans 1986 and references therein).
