Test oval; tapering posteriorly to blunt end, sunken towards peristome. Interambulacra V slightly inflated, hood above periproct. Sub-anal fasciole conspicuous in juveniles, less so in adults. Global maximum size. Maximum test length 50 mm. Global distribution. West coast of South Africa, Atlantic, sub-Antarctic and North Pacific, at 770–4400 m depth (Schultz 2010). Remarks.
