Remarks: Hoff (1942b) deemed the genus Cytherites Sars, 1926 to be a synonym of Entocythere , but retained it as a subgenus. The subgenus designation was removed in Hoff (1944a: 328, 330–331), with justification. This species was designated incertae sedis by Hart (1962: 123); the author suggested that the original genus name, Cytherites , be retained for use only, if and when deemed appropriate, as a monotypic genus containing E. insignipes . Entocythere insignipes is considered to be a member of the subfamily Entocytherinae based on locality (i.e., Canada) and several morphological characters, including presence of a respiratory lobe. Placement within the subfamily, however, is, and remains, problematic. : Published as part of Williams, Bronwyn W. & Weaver, Patricia G., 2018, A historical review of the taxonomy and classification of Entocytheridae (Crustacea: Ostracoda: Podocopida), pp. 1-129 in Zootaxa 4448 (1) on page 96, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4448.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/1444492 : {"references": ["Sars, G.
