Summary:Ariadna caerulea Keyserling, 1877 Figures 24‒25, 68 Ariadne caerulea Keyserling, 1877: 227 (Immature lectotype and lectoparatype from Bogotá [04°35'53"N; 74°04'33"W], Cundinamarca, Colombia, deposited in NHM 90.7.1.478.9, designated by Beatty (1970), examined). Ariadna caerulea— Petrunkevitch (1911: 131).— Bonnet (1955: 732).— Beatty (1970: 465, figs 44‒45, 49).— World Spider Catalog (2018). Ariadna coerulea — Mello-Leitão (1943: 233). Additional material examined. COLOMBIA: Magdalena Department: S side of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta [10°51'59"N; 73°42'59"W], 8‒11,000ft., 1♂, IV.1938, T.D. Cabot leg. Males of Ariadna caerulea are similar to A. ubajara n. sp. due to the morphology of the palps (Figs 25A‒B, 59F‒G) and metatarsi I (Figs 24C‒E, 59C‒E), but differ by the presence of males with the mid-portion strongly bent forwards and a more tapered embolus tip (Fig. 24C‒E); females are similar to A. boliviana, A. isthmica and A. gaucha n. sp. due to the macrosetae pattern of tibiae I‒II, but differ from these species, except A. isthmica , by the presence of anterior receptaculum with the ventral lobe shorter than the dorsal one; it differs from A. isthmica by the presence of a ventral lobe longer and more sinuous (Fig. 25C‒D). Description. Male (ICN-Ar 4762). Carapace and chelicerae reddish brown (Fig. 24A). Endites brownish orange; labium dark brownish orange.
