Description
Summary:Paramesius belytoides Marshall, 1867 (Figs 3–5, 7, 35) Paramesius rufipes Westwood, 1832: 129. Preoccupied by Paramesius rufipes (Fonscolombe, 1832). Paramesius belytoides Marshall, 1867: 223. Synonymized by Macek (2001). Paramesius unifoveatus Kieffer, 1911: 770. Synonymized by Macek (2001). Preoccupied by Paramesius unifoveatus (Kieffer, 1908). Paramesius dessarti Notton, 2004: 338. Replacement name. Paramesius macrocerus Kieffer, 1911: 766. Synonymized by Macek (2001). Paramesius brevipennis Kieffer, 1911: 761. Synonymized by Macek (2001). Paramesius westwoodi Fergusson, 1977: 243. Replacement name. Taxonomic remarks . The name Paramesius rufipes Westwood, 1832 was preoccupied by P. rufipes (Fonscolombe, 1832), however, the replacement with P. westwoodi Fergusson, 1977 is unjustified because there exist a junior synonym ( Paramesius belytoides Marshall, 1867). Macek (2001) suggested several new synonyms for this species. We checked once again available type material as well as all original descriptions and accept here the majority of these synonyms. The species Diapria nervosa Nees von Esenbeck, 1834 was transferred to Paramesius by Haliday (1857) without any commentaries on doing so. However, according to the original description, the male of D. nervosa has 14 antennomeres in contrast to 13 antennomeres in the actual species of Paramesius. Consequently, we restore here this name from the synonym of P. belytoides Marshall. Unfortunately, the combination of characters[?] in the description of D. nervosa does not allow us to propose any generic affiliation for this species, and so we suggest the nomen dubium status for it. Diagnosis. Body length 2.5–4.2 mm; T2 notch deep, 3.0–4.0 times longer than wide; lateral T2 notch deep and distinctly visiable in dorsal view (Fig. 3); petiole ventrally without dense woolly pubescence (Fig. 5); propodeum with posterior margin in dorsal view deeply arcuate (Fig. 3); pronotal cervical area densely pubescent, with numerous short and long setae; neck with short pubescence (Figs 2, 4); pleurostoma with sharp blade throughout (Fig. 4); male keel on A4 extending from base to one third of segments length. Variation. Face puncture and sculptured with horizontal winkles or winkles absent. Occipital flange smooth or punctured. Notauli sculptured at bottom to smooth. Female. Body length 2.6–4.2 mm. Wings 0.57–0.80 times as long as body. Antennomeres gradually darkening from A7 to A11 or A7–A8 yellow, A9 brown and A10–A13 dark brown. Anterior scutellar pit with 2–4 carinae. Petiole 0.30–0.40 times as long as T2. Length of T2 notch 2–3 times shorter than petiole width (Fig. 3). Male. Body length 2.5–4.2 mm. A1–A12 yellow to brown; length of A1 equal to A4 (rare A1 longer than A4) to A1 distinctly shorter than A4; A4 with keel extending to 0.32–0.45 of A4 length. Notauli broadened posteriorly to same width throughout. Anterior scutellar pit with 2–5 carinae. Petiole 0.45–0.50 times as long as T2. Material examined.
