Summary:Genus Amphictene Lamarck, 1818 Type species and type locality Amphictene auricoma Müller, 1776. Denmark; type probably lost or never designated (Holthe 1986). Remarks The genus is characterized according to Hutchings & Peart (2002) by having neurochaetal uncini with major teeth arranged in two rows.
