Voles of the genus Microtus (according to Bregetova, 1956; Zemskaya, 1973). Distribution. Europe, Northern and Central Asia. According to references compiled by Nikulina (2004), L . hilaris is broadly distributed in Siberia and the Russian Far East (except its northern part).
