Description
Summary:Rhabditidae sp. 2 (Fig. 4 C–E; Table 2) A single female (ZIHU 3328) slightly shrunken in the anterior portion of the body, probably due to fixation (Fig. 4 C). Head (Fig. 4 E) rounded, weakly offset; six lips low and closed, equipped with 6+4 papilliform sensilla. Stoma curved; cheilostom sclerotized, promesostom with tooth-like dorsal projection; glottoid apparatus appearing anisomorphic, metastom with two warts. Pharynx (Fig. 4 D) with muscular median bulb. Excretory duct weakly cuticularized. Reproductive system amphidelphic; anterior and posterior ovaries reflexed dorsally. Vulva transversely slit-like, located before midbody. Rectum (Fig. 4 F) long, 2.2 abd in length, with three large gland cells. Tail elongated conical, 15.3 abd length. The present species seems similar to the genera such as Cephaloboides Rahm, 1928, Diploscapteroides Rahm, 1928 and Rhabditella (Cobb, 1929) Chitwood, 1933, in having the stoma equipped with sclerotized cheilostom and tooth-like dorsal projection. ... : Published as part of Kito, Kenji & Ohyama, Yoshikuni, 2008, Rhabditid nematodes found from a rocky coast contaminated with treated wastewater of Casey Station in East Antarctica, with a description of a new species of Dolichorhabditis Andrássy, 1983 (Nematoda: Rhabditidae), pp. 43-52 in Zootaxa 1850 on pages 49-51, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.183386 ...
