Habitat and Distribution: pelagic-oceanic at depths between 0–800 m, usually 0– 550 m. Worldwide in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans in tropical, temperate, and sometimes cold waters. In the eastern Atlantic, from Norway to South Africa. Vulnerability: DD (IUCN), HHV (FishBase).
