Length data were available for 111 specimens ranging from 20 to 79 cm TL (38.6±16.1). Habitat and Distribution: benthopelagic over sandy and muddy bottoms at depth range 10–1,047 m, usually 100–450 m, with juveniles more coastal, over the continental shelf while adults migrate along the slope. Eastern Atlantic, from Norway and Iceland to Mauritania and in the Mediterranean Sea.
