Summary:Bombus monticola rondoui Vogt, 1909 High mountain subespecies distributed in the Cantabrian Range and the Pyrenees in forest and pastures, from 1800 to 2500 m (Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2004). At present, it has been collected in forest meadows of altitude, with patches of subalpine scrubland, between 1910 and 2175 m (Fig. 7) on Centaurea scabiosa L., Cynoglossum officinale F., Echium vulgare L., Lathyurus pratensis L., Lotus corniculatus L., Origanum vulgare L., Rhododendron ferrugineum L., Ranunculus acris L., Silene acaulis (L.) Jacq., Taraxacum dissectum (Ledeb.) Ledeb., Taraxacum officinale F.H. Wigg, Trifolium pratense L. and Trifolium repens L. This bee is not regarded as being scarce or threatened (Table 2).
