Hypomesus pretiosus (Girard, 1854). Surf Smelt . To 30.5 cm (12 in) TL (Hart 1973). North side of Alaska Peninsula at Izembek Bay, and Gulf of Alaska (Mecklenburg et al. 2002), to Long Beach, southern California (Miller and Lea 1972).
