Type locality: Norway. See: Mortensen (1933a: 39–41, fig. 23); Paterson (1985). Occurrence: North Atlantic, in the west from the Northern American coasts to Greenland and in the east from Iceland and Scandinavia to the British waters (Mortensen 1933 a, Paterson 1985). Depth: 166– 1,952 m (Paterson 1985, Harvey et al . 1988). Habitat: coral epibiont and also known from muddy sand (Farran 1913). Larval stage: brooding, protandric hermaphrodite (Mortensen 1920).
