Description
Summary:GENUS PARALITHODES BRANDT, 1848 Remarks : The genus Paralithodes is a fairly widespread and commonly encountered deep-sea genus of lithodids. According to Chevaldonné & Olu (1996), Sagalevich et al. (1992) reported Paralithodes sp. from 350–400 m ‘on the periphery of active hydrothermal vents on the summit of Piip Volcano, in the Bering Sea, on dense populations of actinians’ (Chevaldonné & Olu, 1996: 287). The observations were made using a submersible, and to our knowledge no specimens were collected. This is the basis for our listing of Paralithodes sp. in Table 1. : Published as part of Martin, Joel W. & Haney, Todd A., 2005, Decapod crustaceans from hydrothermal vents and cold seeps: a review through 2005, pp. 445-522 in Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society 145 (4) on page 484, DOI: 10.1111/j.1096-3642.2005.00178.x, http://zenodo.org/record/5434828 : {"references": ["Brandt JE. 1848.
