TYPE SPECIES: Bellardia vernalis Robineau-Desvoidy, 1863 [= Tachina obsoleta Meigen, 1824], by monotypy. CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Rognes (1991: 34)]. FAMILY: CALLIPHORIDAE. REMARKS: Rondani (1863: 81) also proposed the name Bellardia for a tabanid.
