Lice of Philopterus identified to the generic level only were reported from Acrocephalus palustris (Bechstein), Alauda arvensis L., Anthus pratensis (L.)*, A. trivialis (L.), Emberiza hortulana L. Fringilla coelebs L., Hirundo rustica L., Iduna pallida (Hemprich & Ehrenberg) *, Lanius minor Gmelin, Luscinia megarhynchos (Brehm) *, Muscicapa striata (Pallas), Phylloscopus sibilatrix (Bechstein), Ptyonoprogne rupestris (Scopoli) *, Saxicola torquata (L.)*, Sitta europaea L., Tachymarptis melba (L.) and Turdus torquatus L. (see Balát, 1958; Touleshkov, 1961a, 1964a, 1974).
