Summary: | Meriola gallina Platnick & Ewing Figs 34–36, 94b Meriola gallina Platnick & Ewing, 1995: 20, figs 39–43 (male holotype from Cautin, Región de la Araucania, Chile, in AMNH, not examined). Diagnosis. Males (Figs 35–36) are recognized by the curved distally RTA and the long embolus arising from the prolateral side. Females (Fig. 34) are distinguished by the protruding posterior lobe on the epigynal median field. Description. Male and female described by Platnick & Ewing (1995). Natural history and habitat. The specimens were collected on shrub steppes and Nothofagus antartica forests. Distribution. Known from a few localities in Cordillera, Linares, Curicó and Malleco provinces in Chile (Fig. 94b). New records.
