Material examined. Stn 21, colony with several monosiphonic stems, a few mm high, with a few polyps (NIWA 117479); Stn 148, a few solitary polyps on Staurotheca nonscripta (MNCN 2.03/530). Description. Polyps 300–450 µm high, with ca. 16 tentacles, and a relatively large basal groove. Cnidome composed of large macrobasic euryteles (21–24.8 x 8–10 µm), apparently only on hypostome, and small microbasic euryteles (7–8.5 x 3.5–4 µm). Ecology and distribution. Shelf species found at depths between 10 (Puce et al. 2002) and 135 m (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2009); present material between 168 and 397 m, epibiotic on Staurotheca nonscripta. Species found epilithic on pebbles (Peña Cantero 2009) and epibiotic on algae (Peña Cantero et al. 2013), hydroids and bryozoans ... : Published as part of ÁLVARO L.
