Description
Summary:This is the first of a series of datasets from a measurement campaign that took place in the German North Sea from August 2019 to May 2020. The objective of the measurement was to investigate relative motions between blade root and turbine hub observed during single blade installation. The wind farm - Trianel Windpark Borkum II - is located in the German Bight, approx. 40 km north of the island Borkum. The farm consists of 32 6M152 wind turbines. During the course of the installation, a tuned mass damper was added to improve single blade installation. The tuned mass damper became available with the 17th turbine undergoing installation. This dataset includes raw measurements from the first 16 offshore wind turbines undergoing installation (without a tuned mass damper.) Each zip-file contains pickled pandas DataFrames. HeliHoist denotes measurements from the helicopter hoisting platform atop the nacelle. TP denotes measurements from the transition piece. LIDAR denotes the available LIDAR measurements that were taken abroad the installation vessel. Waves denotes wave data taken from a nearby buoy. Preliminary results were presented at two different conferences, see Sander et al (2020a) and Sander et al (2020b) : {"references": ["Sander et al.
