Etymology From the Greek Πυρρὸς, flame-coloured, yellowish red; and δράκων, dragon. The name alludes to the Great Red Dragon of the Book of Revelation, because its highly intricate ornamentation is not unlike that of a dragon and its colour accurately matches with the description given by John the Apostle.
