Description
Summary:Each file in this dataset contains a set of monthly mean climate variables derived from the network of Arctic Ice Mass Balance Buoys deployed between 1993-2015. Variables include: ice and snow thickness, top and basal ice melt, basal ice growth, top and basal ice conduction, and ocean heat flux. The production of these variables is described in West et al (in discussion), 'Using Arctic ice mass balance buoys for evaluation of modelled ice energy fluxes'. The code used to process the raw IMB dataset is contained in the GitHub repository https://github.com/sammiebuzzard/IMBS_MO, and produces the processed data at https://zenodo.org/record/3773811. The second stage of the code, https://github.com/alex-west-met-office/IMBS_Stage2_modeleval_MO, uses the processed data as input and produces the monthly mean datasets here. Each individual file corresponds to a specific set of parameters used for the analysis, described in the file attributes.
