Description
Summary:Scina marginata (Bovallius, 1885) Southwest Atlantic: ex. 1090369 , 4/134, [61.967°S 65.275°W], 275 m. Remarks : This species is relatively common in the tropical and temperate regions of all the world’s oceans, including the Mediterranean Sea. Most records are from the Atlantic where it ranges from about 52°N to 19°S. It seems to prefer near-surface waters (0–200 m). Hurley (1969) records it on one of his maps (pl. 18, map 2) from the Southwest Pacific Sector, near the Ross Sea, but I could not find any other reference to this record. The above is a new record from the Southwest Atlantic Sector, confirming its occurrence in the Antarctic Zone. : Published as part of Zeidler, Wolfgang, 2019, New and additional records of hyperiidean amphipods of the infraorder Physosomata (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Hyperiidea) from the Antarctic Zone of the Southern Ocean, pp. 510-520 in Zootaxa 4576 (3) on page 518, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4576.3.5, http://zenodo.org/record/3715770 : {"references": ["Hurley, D.
