Description
Summary:Cirrholovenia cf. tetranema Kramp, 1959 b (fig. 4 D) Cirrholovenia tetranema Kramp, 1959 b: 243, fig. 17 A–B.— Brinckmann, 1965: 13, figs 1–3. Egmundella amirantensis Millard & Bouillon, 1973: 40, fig. 5 A–D.—Millard, 1975: 133, fig. 43 G.— Ramil & Vervoort, 1992: 22, fig. 2 A–D.— Peña Cantero & García Carrascosa, 2002: 48, fig. 10 A–D. Lafoeina amirantensis — Calder, 1991 d: 10, fig. 3.— Calder & Vervoort, 1998: 15, fig. 5.— Calder et al ., 2003: 1180, fig. 5.— Migotto & Cabral, 2005: 3, figs 1–3. Material examined . Stn. 3 : 01.04.2008 —a few hydrothecae and nematothecae, but no gonothecae, on stolons of sertulariid and corynid hydroids. Stn. 6 : 23.03.2008 —a small, sterile colony, on Halimeda sp. Type locality . Near Solomon Islands, Melanesia (medusa). Remarks . The present material is tentatively assigned to Kramp’s (1959 b) species. Since Cirrholovenia tetranema is reliably identified through its medusa stage, it is possible that similar polyps may produce different medusae. Migotto & Cabral (2005) showed that Lafoeina amirantensis (Millard & Bouillon 1973) is the hydroid of the medusa Cirrholovenia tetranema Kramp, 1959 and provided a complete redescription of both stages. Distribution . Scattered records from both the western and eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea, Indian and Pacific Oceans. A detailed list of records is provided by Migotto & Cabral (2005). : Published as part of Galea, Horia R., 2008, On a collection of shallow-water hydroids (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) from Guadeloupe and Les Saintes, French Lesser Antilles, pp. 1-54 in Zootaxa 1878 on page 21, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.184149 : {"references": ["Kramp, P.
