Ten bats (Chiroptera) of three species were collected (Trident batAsellia tridens, Persian Leaf-nosed Bat Triaenops persicus, and Kuhl's Pipistrelle Pipistrellus kuhli); and eight rats and mice (Rodentia: Muridae) of two species (Black Rat Rattus rattus, House Mouse Mus musculusy, and 18 specimens of Cricetidae: Sundevall's Jird Meriones crassus and Cheesman's Gerbil Gerbillus cheesmani). The pipistrelle, jird and gerbU were found in the Sands, the remainderon the border.Evidenceis given of other species which may occur. Further behavioural studies are suggested. ... |
