Summary: | Among the population, the need for the use of medicinal plants in the treatment and prevention of various acute and chronic diseases increases from year to year. This article reflects the results of the work on the primary introduction of popular medicinal types of mint in Central Yakutia. Such valuable species as M. x piperita L. – peppermint, M. spicata L. - garden mint (sprickly, curly), M. longifolia (L.) were attracted. Huds. - forest mint (long-leaved), M. pulegium L. - flea mint. Of these, some species showed quite good winter resistance Central Yakutia: M. spicata and M. longifolia persist for 5-6 years, did not freeze even in the cold winter of 2020-2021. Winter resistance is lower in peppermint, and especially in marsh mint, which freezes almost annually. A more stable rhythm of seasonal development was established in M. spicata, M. longifolia.
