Description
Summary:ATLAS work package 1 presentation at ATLAS 3rd General Assembly One of the overarching goals of ATLAS is to investigate the sensitivity of North Atlantic Ocean ecosystems to the seasonal to decadal temporal variability of basin-scale physical processes. Here, we present work for deliverable 1.2. The relationships between time series of basin-scale physical processes and temporal changes in key physical variables in the North Atlantic are investigated using both historical observations and the output of a cutting-edge, high-resolution ocean model over a 50-year time scale. Since it is important to examine changes over both the whole North Atlantic as well as representative ecosystems, basin scale maps and time series at each of the ATLAS Case Study sites are constructed.
