Description
Summary:Eupithecia absinthiata (Clerck), ab. (Figs 53, 65a, 65b, 65c) Eupithecia neosatyrata, nec Inoue: Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 273 (Sakhalin). Material examined. 1 ♂, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, STAZR, 9.VII.2011. Remarks. The misidentification in Beljaev & Mironov (2019, 2021) was due to a brown coloration and a distinct transverse serial striation on the wings, unusual for the typical Far Eastern specimens of E. absinthiata, and due to a small size, what makes this specimen outwardly similar to E. neosatyrata. But its male genitalia (Figs 65a, 65b, 654c) well correspond to those of E. absinthiata. Thus, E. neosatyrata has to be excluded from the fauna of Sakhalin. ... : Published as part of Beljaev, Еvgeniy A. & Titova, Olga L., 2023, New data on geometroid moths (Lepidoptera: Geometroidea: Uraniidae and Geometridae) from Sakhalin and Moneron islands with notes on their taxonomy distribution and ecology, pp. 1-41 in Zootaxa 5369 (1) on pages 26-27, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5369.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/10147411 ...
