Summary:This dataset contains the open accessible data and reports for the FIMP survey carried out in St Mary Lake in 2011. St. Mary Lake and the associated watershed contribute fresh water and nutrients to the Columbia basin within the Rocky Mountain trench. The lake and its tributaries support resident populations of burbot, kokanee, mountain whitefish, rainbow trout, and westslope cutthroat trout. Bull trout and Dolly Varden are also known to occur. Coarse species such as longnose sucker provide forage for other fish. The shoreline and associated riparian areas also provide important habitat for a wide variety of wildlife species, including raptors (e.g., osprey, bald eagles), song birds, large game (e.g., deer and moose), and numerous other species of birds and small mammals.
