Raw swath bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data acquired near-bottom in 2017 from the continental slope of the Canadian Beaufort Sea with MBARI mapping AUV on Arctic Ocean mission 20170910m1

This swath bathymetry data set was collected with a Reson SeaBat 7125 multibeam sonar system on MBARI Mapping AUV mission 20170910m1 in 2017. The data files are in Reson s7k format (compatible with MB-System as mbio format 88) and contain raw swath bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data. The AUV s...

Description
Summary:This swath bathymetry data set was collected with a Reson SeaBat 7125 multibeam sonar system on MBARI Mapping AUV mission 20170910m1 in 2017. The data files are in Reson s7k format (compatible with MB-System as mbio format 88) and contain raw swath bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data. The AUV survey mission was conducted during the 2017 KOPRI R/V Araon cruise ARA08C in the Beaufort Sea (Cruise Chief Scientist - Young Keun Jin, KOPRI; project PI - Charlie Paull and investigators: David Caress and Eve Lundsten, MBARI). Data were acquired as part of a collaborative research project between MBARI, KOPRI, the Geological Survey of Canada, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada to understand slope stability. Funding for the AUV mapping was provided from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
