Summary:An analysis of the history of the development of pipeline transport in Arctic conditions above the sixtieth parallel of north latitude on permafrost soils from the first in the USSR aboveground gas pipeline Voyvozh – Ukhta to the modern oil pipeline in Russia Polar region – Purpe is presented. The features of theconstruction and operation of Arctic pipelines, as well as the problems that arose during the construction are considered. In general, based on the analysis of the history of the development of pipeline transport in the Arctic, it can be concluded that the oil and gas transport system is in a state of development and is promising, since the main production will be concentrated in the Arctic zone in accordance with the development strategy of Russia. The materials of the article provide an opportunity to give a number of recommendations on possible directions for the development of oil and gas trunk transportation systems in Arctic conditions, to take into account the factors of climate change when developing a strategy for the development of the Arctic transport infrastructure, based on scientifically grounded and reliable theories and scientific concepts, as well as on the experience of construction and the operation of the main Arctic pipelines of previous years. : История науки и техники, Выпуск 1 2021
