Description
Summary:The bias adjustment which needs to be made to estimates of the fishing effects parameters λ in the penguin island closure experiment to account for measurement error in the biomass term in the associated GLM estimation process is examined. A range of values for the correlation coefficient evidenced between anchovy catches around Dassen and Robben island and anchovy recruitment strength are considered. The extent of these bias adjustments to the original λ values is relatively small (and does not change the sign of the λ). ...
