MassIVE MSV000084153 - Blubber proteome response to repeated ACTH administration in juvenile elephant seals : Proteins were isolated from the inner blubber layer (closest to muscle) of juvenile elephant seals undergoing a repeated ACTH administration experiment (for details, see McCormley et al., 2018, doi: 10.1093/conphys/coy040; Deyarmin et al., 2019, doi:10.1038/s41598-019-39089-2). Sample preparation was conducted using the Qiazol method as previously described (Khudyakov et al., 2018, doi:10.1242/bio.036731). Four samples of blubber proteins from each of 2 seals (collected before and after the first and fourth ACTH administration) were labeled with 8-plex iTRAQ, fractionated off-line, pooled into 4 fractions, and analyzed by HPLC-MS/MS.
