В статье дан анализ историографии, посвященной роли Русского Севера в выборе исторических путей России. В центре внимания находятся работы С.Ф.Платонова, Н.Е.Носова и А.А.Зимина. В этих исследованиях сформирована концепция пути развития России, основанного на предбуржуазном экономическом опыте и связанном с ним опыте земского самоуправления на Русском Севере. Этот путь мог стать альтернативой движению в сторону сильного крепостнического государства, но возможности ее реализации были утрачены еще в допетровскую эпоху : The article provides an analysis of the historiography devoted to the role of the Russian North in the choice of Russia's historical paths. The author analyzed the studies of S.F.Platonov, N.E.Nosov and A.A.Zimin. In these investigations the concept of the path of development of Russia based on pre-bourgeois economic experience and the experience of local self-government in the Russian North was formed. This path was considered as an alternative to a strong centralized state based on serfdom. But the possibilities for implementing this alternative were lost already in the pre-Petrine epoch
