| Summary: | The breeding of Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus on River Ufa in the Krasnoufimsk municipal district (the Middle Urals) is reported. The last reliable mention of the species nesting in the area dates back to the 1950s. A Peregrine nest was discovered on the Soldatskiy (Sukhoretskiy) Kamen Mountain located on the bank of River Ufa in the vicinity of the Sarana settlement (56°24’58”N, 57°45’10”E) on 1 May, 2016. The report includes a detailed description and photographs of the site and the nest. The found nest is typical for the species in the Ural region as it was located on a ledge of a cliff near the river valley. It is interesting that this rock is a place actively visited by tourists. |
