The Upper Planation Surface (UPS; blue) dominates the landscape at some distance from the coast and cuts across Palaeogene basalts and crystalline basement and a deeply weathered etch surface (ES; red) below the basalts. The LPS (orange) is incised below the UPS and is found along the major valleys. Map scale 1:500 000, UTM zone 27N.
