Summary: | The map collection of the Norwegian Polar Institute (Tromsø, Norway) consists of several thousand maps, mainly from the polar regions. In November 2015 the map archive was extended with about 400 maps from the [Ministry of Foreign Affairs](https://www.regjeringen.no/en/dep/ud) The institute aims at conserving all of the maps as high quality (400 dpi) image scans. This scanning is still in progress and new maps are added frequently. You may find linguistic errors in texts following the maps. These will be corrected gradually.
