Summary: | Japanese Ocean Flux Data Sets with Use of Remote Sensing Observations (J-OFURO) is a research project on air-sea heat, momentum, and freshwater fluxes in the Earth system. The project also provides the satellite-derived data set of air-fluxes over the global oceans with the exception of the sea ice areas. J-OFURO3 is a third-generation data set in the project. After the first release of J-OFURO3 (V1.0), the dataset has been updated to V1.1. In the V1.1, the data provision period was extended to 1988-2017 and some of the problems were fixed. Furthermore, by using newer satellite observation data, J-OFURO3 V1.1 succeeded to improve data quality and quantity. J-OFURO3 V1.1 is provided as a numerical data set of air-sea fluxes in netCDF format, along with relevant physical parameters including sea surface temperature, surface wind speed, and surface air specific humidity and so on. The daily and monthly mean data on 0.25 degree grids for 1988-2017 are currently available. ... |
