Description
Summary:This dataset contains measurements and landmark data taken from two species of middle Cambrian trilobite from the Northwest Territories of Canada. This was conducted to quantify their growth and development. Following collection, specimens were prepared in the laboratory, coated in ammonium chloride sublimate, and then photographed, either with a Nikon DSLR camera, or an Olympus SZX-16 microscope. Linear measurements and landmark positions were collected from photos using the software ImageJ version 1.53. Linear measurements were taken from the cranidia and pygidia, and landmarks were only collected from the cranidia. Specimens are labeled as either their Geological Survey of Canada type number (published specimens) or as their original designation number (unpublished specimens). Linear measurements of cranidia and pygidia are expressed in millimeters, whereas landmark data are expressed as x and y coordinates. Landmarks have been fitted using Bookstein method, calculated in Past4.04. ...
