Description
Summary:The dataset contains ice thickness measurements made during the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) Expedition in the Central Arctic from October 2019 – September 2020. The data include time series measurements of ice thickness at 137 discrete, constant points in first- and second-year ice. Measurements were made using ablation stakes and hotwire thickness gauges, including change in positions of the ice bottom, ice surface, and snow surface. These measurements were used to compute ice thickness, and snow thickness, and pond depth, which can be used to derive ice growth, surface melt, and bottom melt. The contents include the full, quality-controlled dataset from the expedition, as well as site diagrams, maps, and select field photographs. ...
