Summary: | Trace and major elements were measured by high resolution sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SF-ICPMS) in snow collected at 22 sites in the northwest sector of the Greenland Ice Sheet in 2013 and 2014. Total and water soluble concentrations of 31 elements (Al, As, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Dy, Eu, Fe, Gd, K, La, Mg, Mn, Na, Nb, Nd, Pb, Pr, S, Sb, Si, Sm, Sn, Sr, Ti, V, U, Y, Zn) were quantified in 133 samples. Samples were collected at 3cm resolution, targeting surface snow, the 2012 melt layer, and summer 2013. These analyses were conducted as part of the collaborative project "Spatial and temporal variability of surface albedo and light absorbing chemical species in Greenland" (NSF Award 1204059). |
