This is a list of archaeological textiles, and was recoded in Torshavn, Faroe Islands. The data is from the Viking Age to the 19th century and each fragment was analyzed for weave type, thread count and spin direction. This was part of the project "Weaving Islands of Cloth: Gender, Textiles, and Trade Across the North Atlantic from the Viking Age to the Early Modern Period (Award no: 1303898)" though its use is on going and was used in the project: Archaeological Investigations of the Eastern North Atlantic Trade and Globalizing Economic Systems (Award no. 1733914) which sought to provide new data on patterns of household-scale production and consumption in the eastern North Atlantic islands and assess the ways that textiles from the rural North Atlantic islands were used, consumed, and traded within the emerging medieval and post-medieval urban harbors of Bergen, Trondheim, and Borgund in Norway. ...
